We’re Here For You!

Matchmaking is what we love to do. We do our very best to find the best fit for the pets awaiting adoption at the Rhode Island SPCA. Take a look below on the steps on how to adopt a cat, dog, rabbit or maybe even a ferret!

Dog Adoptions

The first step is to take a look at who’s waiting for you either at the shelter or online at Adoptable Dogs. If you find someone you like, you can fill out an adoption application. If you’re a good fit, an adoption counselor will contact you to see if you’d like to schedule a meet & greet. Because of the volume of applicants we sometimes receive, we are not always able to respond to all applicants. You are welcome to contact us anytime about the status of your application at adoption@rispca.com.

Dog Adoptions include:

  • Spay/neuter surgery
  • Age-appropriate vaccinations
  • Heartworm test
  • Preventative deworming

  • Free wellness veterinary exam (with participating practices)
