RHODE ISLAND SPCA
Pets in Need Veterinary Clinic
Every year, veterinarians throughout Rhode Island see thousands of pet owners who are elderly, disabled, or low-income and don’t have the financial means to provide proper veterinary care for their pets. Despite the efforts of many veterinarians and agencies, these pet owners are often left with nowhere to turn when their pets are in need.
The Pets in Need Veterinary Clinic provides medical and surgical services for pets owned by need-based elderly, disabled and low income citizens of Rhode Island. Pet owners who demonstrate income eligibility and/or current participation in a State or Federal benefit program will be able to access care for their pets. The clinic is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose sole mission is to provide quality veterinary care for pets who might not otherwise receive it.
The Pets in Need Veterinary Clinic is located at 40 Amaral Street in East Providence. The clinic will be fully staffed with an experienced veterinarian and experienced veterinary technicians. Volunteer veterinarians from throughout the state have offered to contribute their time at the clinic. Appointments can be made by contacting the clinic at (401) 270-3832. Eligibility will also be explained by the clinic staff when calling to make an appointment. Emergency and life threatening cases will be treated regardless of eligibility. All clients of the clinic will be expected to pay a nominal fee for the care their pet receives.
