Degus

The RISPCA had a group of 8 Degus surrendered because their original pair had babies and they were too much to care for. Because the babies were not seperated, we now have 11 Degus and are expecting at least 1 or 2 more litters in the next month. Degus are very social critters so we are adopting them out in groups of two or more - seperated by gender. Degus are rare but can make excellent family pets due to their gregarious nature and larger size.

We are now accepting applications to adopt the Degus. Adopters will need to demonstrate adequate knowledge of Degu care. If you think you would like to take a group of Degus home, please stop by the Rhode Island SPCA for a visit!
