| About Zeke from Arianna Zeke is a Border Collie mix and was fostered by the D'Ascoli family in mid-July. As a little puppy there was always something wrong with him, he had an older brother named Jones who always picked on him. He was about the size of a kitten, while his brother was twice as big. Zeke began having seizures and repeatedly walking in circles, he had a minor case of distemper. The seizures soon stopped and so did the walking in circles. He lived with the two cocker spaniels that belonged to his foster parents, he began to grow and grow and grow and soon he was bigger that his Cocker Spaniel 'siblings' and has been healthy ever since. His foster family adopted him and now he lives happily with Lillie and Sadie (the Cocker Spaniels) and Rob, Heidi and Arianna. |
Bonnie "Bonnie is a great dog - we're glad we have her and I think she likes it here. She's right at home with us. As you can see in this pic, she took over the Big Chair." |
![]() Beamer formerly Nimbus "Dear SPCA staff, Our Beamer has adjusted exceptionally well to a new life in North Smithfield. He follows us everywhere and has found comfort at the foot of our bed on a nightly basis. Beamer is so inquisitive, too, and has found a sunny spot on our windowseat. It was amazing to watch him watch the snow and activ ity of the plows and shovels. Enjoy the pictures which are enclosed; he loves to pose" |

I speak to many individuals and they are very reluctant on adopting from a shelter. I hear such things as "they were given up for a reason and most likely they were bad pets that damaged the house". Many want to start with a kitten or puppy, thinking it is the best thing to do, but believe me, in my case this cat appreciates his new home. He's almost like a dog. He hears the garage door open and runs to the steps to greet me. He sits in the living room and watches television with us. When you call him, he comes running out like he hasn't seen you in a week. At bedtime he makes himself a spot at the end of the bed as if he's done it all his life. He is a welcomed addition to the family. All he needed was some much needed attention for the right results. Thank you, Lisa |
